Our flagship campaigns

VE Day
2025 will mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. As it was in 1945, the heart of the VE Day 80 commemorations and celebrations will be in our communities. While VE Day itself is the 8th of May, to support this year’s momentous anniversary the bank holiday Monday has been officially dedicated to community celebrations! We have a duty to celebrate our Second World War veterans, and an opportunity to learn once more from their experiences. Let’s make Monday 5th May a day to both remember their efforts and to honour the freedom that VE day represents.

The Big Help Out
Launched for the first time in 2023 as part of The King’s Coronation, The Big Help Out brought over 7 million people and thousands of organisations together through volunteering. The following year we saw almost 6.5 million people across the UK taking part and lending a hand – with litter picks, planting, cleaning lifeboats, family fun days, and painting lidos. We know that people giving their time for the common good is what makes our communities tick, become more resilient and and feel more united. It also provides people with the connections that they need, to feel they belong and to trust the society they live in.

Together for Humanity
Together for Humanity emerged in response to the 2023/24 conflict in Israel and Gaza, and the deeply alarming surge in hatred this generated towards Britain’s Jewish and Muslim communities. The campaign began with an appeal to the public to join us for a sombre moment of reflection and togetherness — without flags or placards. Hundreds of people answered the call at short notice, gathering in Westminster to offer thoughts, love and prayers are with all those civilians suffering in Israel and in Palestine. Many more sent messages of support. Other national and local vigils followed and now, we’re working to turn a moment into a movement – one that holds hope for peace, stands against prejudice, and reminds us all of the importance of placing our common humanity above all else.
Thank You Day
The campaign that our Coalition first came together for in July 2020. With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, we teamed up with the NHS to get huge swathes of the public saying thank you to those who had helped us through the pandemic so far on the NHS’ birthday.
With The FA, NHS, Royal Voluntary Service, and Scouts among thousands of organisations, Thank You Day became an annual event with millions of people participating each year; an opportunity to thank the people on your street, in your block of flats and all those unsung heroes of local legends like the volunteers, teachers and carers who go the extra mile for us.
