Thank Holiday, anyone?
The ‘Thank Holiday’ campaign has launched – and there are plenty of reasons to be thankful.
What is it?
We’re calling for the Government to create a new annual Bank Holiday from 2023.
Why are we doing it?
Ahead of the Queen’s Jubilee, it’s time to recognise Her Majesty’s extraordinary service. And the work of the millions of people that have gone out of their way to help, in these testing times.
Who’s involved?
The campaign is supported by an extraordinary number of charities, businesses and individuals. They include the Royal Voluntary Service, Social Enterprise UK, Scouts, the Confederation of British Industry, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Hospitality UK, the Trade Union Congress and many more.

Get involved and show your support!
Take a moment to read the open letter to the Prime Minister and join Deborah Meadon and a host of other businesses, business leaders and networks supporting the call for an additional Bank Holiday, which we are calling ‘Thank Holiday’. Let’s get together to create a dedicated day of thankfulness – an opportunity for everyone to get together, share food, drinks, dress up (or down!), get the party games out and maybe even share gifts with those we want to thank.
This is your chance to influence something that will be part of the UK calendar for generations to come, join us in the call for ‘Thank Holiday’ and in making saying ‘Thank You’ part of our DNA! Register your support by emailing business@together.org.uk or to get more information and answers to any questions you may have.
Everyone is excited about the prospect of Thank Holiday as you can see from the media headlines! Can you afford not to be part of the call?

“The proposal for a new Thank Holiday to recognise the Queen’s selfless service and to extend that notion of service across communities is a really exciting one. Business is keen to support and we at the CBI will work with the campaign’s supporters and employers to make it a real success.”
Tony Danker,
Director General of the CBI
“We need this day more than ever. To remind us what connects us, to create an excuse to engage our neighbours in something more than small talk and to express our thanks to a lifetime of service in her Majesty the Queen. It is, as they say, for Queen and Country.”
