Billion Seed Challenge
On 30th October, the day before UN leaders met in Glasgow for COP 26, communities across the UK took the Billion Seed Challenge and came together to brighten up their local areas by planting wildflower seeds.
The Billion Seed Challenge was born with an aim to support, promote and amplify the work that organisations across the coalition were already doing as part COP26 and provide a way for everyone to get involved.
87% of participants said that they spoke to someone from a different background
100% would participate in a community engagement activity again
From Newcastle, to Manchester, Isle of Sheppey to Boston, organisations including Scouts, Rotary, RVS, Homebase, The Climate Coalition, the Pub is the Hub, Reach PLC, and Marie Curie, joined with schools, grandparents, volunteers, hospitals, gardening groups and businesses to plant seeds and brighten up their local areas, together!
